Deployment

So tired of all the babies crying that they miss there husbands....did you not know what you were getting yourself into when you married a Navy boy. Seriously.....you're annoying. Stop complaining you have no one when multiple people have offered advice, help, and companionship.

Sorry just venting.

Barf

My diet sucks. I just cant get into a routine.

Today I have had:
Coffee
PopCorn
3 mini Baby Ruths
About a cup of Ritz snack mix
6 glasses of water

I seriously feel like im gonna barf. I really need to start eating better. Yesterday's menu wasnt much better.

Jello Legs

So today was an adventure, and it left me exhausted! Two of my favorite Ladies here on the island, took me up Koko Head. Of the 5 years I have lived here I haven't been up this crazy thing. It was crazy, all 1,048 stairs! I had a great time though and burned a total of 1,643 calories. Hmm...if I just walk Koko Head twice a week I'll be skinny in no time! :-) Thanks but my legs hurt so bad right now. I would probably do it again if I had to or if someone forced me up. The views are great and I wish I had taken more pictures of us going up and going down. All in all it was a good day!!

<---me, laura, and rachel at the top! This was their second time and my first time. Made it in 52 mins. Not sure if thats good or bad but hey, I made it!

Thanks to Laura for taking the great pictures! :-)

Forever

Wow! It seems like I haven't been on here in forever. We've been super busy.

Thursday we baked with Julie, and went to our monthly ESC meeting at Sydneys.

Friday was a rough day, Nicole was really showing her age on Friday and since she didnt have much of a nap the evening was much worse until we showed up to see Elmo Live.

Saturday...today, we have alot to finish for our Auntie Kaila's babyshower tomorrow.

Friday was Ryan and my 5th wedding anniversary. I got flowers! And a box of chocolate I did not need!! I've sent Ryan 2 boxes and 3 greeting cards already so he just has to wait until they get there. I need to send another box today.

Ok, gotta go to walmart and get the candy bars for the "smelly diaper" game for the baby shower! :-)

HOPE

HOPE:

Hope that Patuxent River orders come through.

Hope this deployment continues to go by fast.

Hope my baby girl will get better.

Hope I get some good sleep tonight.

Hope this headache goes away.

Hope my condo sells soon.

Hope my hubby calls me tonight, even though it will wake me from my good sleep.

Hope I can lose 20-30 pounds before homecoming.

H-O-P-E
this word hangs from my mirror in my car, along with a pink breast cancer ring and pink crystal pendant in honor of my aunt. Eight months ago, today, she lost her long battle with breast cancer. I HOPE for a cure. :-)

Mixed Emotions

My poor Nicole has been sick these past two days. She managed to keep her fever down until this evening upon going to bed. She got a dose of medicine and her fever dropped right away. Now it is the coughing I am worried about. She has a dry chesty cough that if is not better tomorrow, probably wont be, I will take her in to get her lungs checked. Last thing I need is for her to get an upper respiratory infection or bronchitis.

Today we received our orders back for where we will go in November. Ryan asked for VPU-2 here in Kaneohe, Hawaii. That request was denied and we are forced to choose between VP-47 in Kaneohe, Hawaii or VP-?? in Patuxent River, Maryland. VP-47 just returned from a deployment cycle which means if we join them in November Ryan will deploy AGAIN in June. Not great! So...I am leaning for Pax River. Pax River is located 4 hours and 30 mins from my grand parents in Virginia Beach, 10 hours and 45 mins from Ryan's parents in Georgia, and 11 hours and 45 mins to my parents in Florida. We would be able to go to DC, Bush Gardens, Sea World, New York City, The Appalachian Mountains, and many other places by CAR! So basically I have my mind made up, can you tell? Part of me wants to stay in Hawaii. I love it here, it is beautiful and I have a million friends. Plus I know almost as much as a local knows when it comes to where to go and what to see. If we move I have to start all over and I am the new girl on the block. Change is good and can be very exciting sometimes. So we'll see.

Well I am beat, and I am hoping I get a phone call with his decision. The detailer needed an answer on our choice within 24 hours so I think he was trying to shoot for tonight when he got off work. It is currently 5:30 in Japan so the decision will be made shortly. Praying for Pax River!

Terrific Two's

Super tired tonight.

Went to the beach today, I need to really start working out!!

Nicole was such a good girl today, in general I guess, minus the coloring on the wall of the pavilion with chalk and the throwing of a rock, and the spitting the ice back into the cooler. Not big deals in my book, no major melt downs today so I am going to bed happy. :-)

6 days until our 5th wedding anniversary......whatcha sending me honey?!?!

Magical

There are so many things I want to talk about tonight. I have been trying to keep memory of them all throughout the day, here we go....

Washing the couch cushion covers are a once a month ordeal in the Bruno household. These things are a 'you know what' to put back on. Well I get the cushions washed yesterday and finally put them back on today, because I dread doing it, it usually takes a day or two to get them on. Well tonight after Nicole's bath I let her hang out naked. Guess what happens next....yup, she pees on my freshly washed couch cushions. Uggggghhh!!! And it's not just on one, she was sitting on the crack of two cushions so it got on two and leaked down to the actual couch itself. Here we go again!!! I hate washing these things!

So happy my friend is here visiting for a couple weeks, glad she has family here because there is no where for her to sleep in my house. :-) I went to walmart and Honolulu Craft Supply and purchased the stuff for her baby shower centerpiece. It's so cute. It's an oversized goblet vase filled with a bunch of baby items. It's also gonna be a game, the guests have to guess how many items are in the vase....not gonna give the answer away but count carefully!! It's not the best picture, but it will do. Glad I finally figured out how to do pictures on here!!

Next Subject: The Army Commissary

Some of you know I have moved away from my beautiful Marine Corps Commissary that my Navy wife friends and I shop at. I dearly miss seeing my favorite bagger Maria, so...
WOW!!!! Tonight Schofield Commissary was crazy. I just went in for some hamburgers and hot dogs. I saw three families of 5, two families of 7 and the family in front of me had 2 sets of twins and a baby and an older son. Holy Moly!!!! Considering the army is always deployed, these people really know how to make use of their time at home ;-)

And about the commissary....we have one group line, we each line up like ducks in, and wait for the magical women from the electronic box at the font of the line tell us which cashier to go to. Well here's a tip, even if the magical lady hasn't called lane 13 and the conveyer belt is empty, go unload your overfilled shopping cart so we can at least save some time and hopefully keep the line from spilling over to the deli section. Thank you thats all!

Flowers for Heros

For anyone who knows me I have always been a very dedicated person towards organizations and clubs I am involved with. This deployment I would love to do something nice for our deployed service members for their return home. So....I just emailed Ellen DeGeneres asking her to donate 350 flower leis for our Golden Eagle's return in November. I know this is far fetched, but I have seen many of her shows where she does amazing things for families and just thought maybe if she came across my email, she would help with this project. I plan on emailing and calling other companies and celebrities in hopes we can find a sponsor for this project. I think it would be amazing if we could thank ever service member in VP-9 for their continued work overseas.

Tired Eyes

Another day, another dollar. Spent most of the day with my lovely friend Carmen and her beautiful children.

Nicole did not nap today until the ride home at 4:30, and woke up at 6:00 to Mrs. Katie Brooke at the door for dinner. She was not a happy camper. I am pretty sure I could have put her in her bed and she would have slept through the night.

So tonight was taco thursday and KB joined me. Very nice to have an unbiased opinion on all the drama happening in my life. It's great talking about Navy stuff to an Army wife. Although Navy is better ;-) Really missing my husband tonight so it was great to have a friend come over to chat.

There has been quite a few things going on lately that I am not too happy about and I plan on nipping them in the butt this weekend. I won't mention what, but there definitely needs to be some damage control done soon or everything we have been working on will be non existent per the higher up guys.

I am pretty much typing with my eyes closed so I am thinking it's time to turn off the lights. I really need to learn how to put pictures on here and make words into cool links. Can someone comment down below to tell me how!?!?

Ah my toddler just walked in the room. She says she wants to sleep with mommy tonight. I'll let you know how this goes. :)

Old Friends, New Memories

So I got to see some friends today and tonight that I have not seen in a while. They are my "Mature" friends. I mean "mature" in a good way. Well grounded, slightly older than me, responsible, and women who I look up to and aspire to be. One of these is my go to gal for venting and just plain old girl talk. She is pregnant, with her 4th, yes I said 4th! She has been having a lot of morning sickness issues, poor lady. This afternoon I just wanted to do something nice for her, to help her get back in the grove of things. So I did her grocery shopping. Now this is not the first time I have done her grocery shopping, laughing out loud, once when her and her 3 kids were sick with the flu and her husband was deployed I went for her. I think it's fun. I just enjoy helping others, especially my friends. :-)

Now this evening I attended my first "Scentsy" party with my other "mature" gals. It was quite exciting. I purchased a few things and super excited to get them. I will post pictures once I get them here and they are set up! Hey maybe I will host a Lemongrass/Scentsy party?!

So back to the grocery shopping. I went in for milk and yogurt and spend $85! The yogurt was buy 10 get like $1 off or something. Well I picked up 9 yogurts. Dumb me...so the Lady rang up a 10th yogurt and told me to go get another one when we were done with my order. Guess who forgot to go back to the dairy section...yeah me! So basically I got $1 off of 10 yogurts and came home with 9. Next time I will remember, maybe.

So excited today Nicole counted from 1 to 10 in the car. Usually it's 1,2,6,7,8,9,10. Very exciting! Now if I could just get rid of these diapers!

Good Night and Thanks for following!!!

A New Begining

Well I am starting a blog! It's been two weeks since my husband, Ryan has left for deployment. Two weeks? Really, that's it? Nicole doesn't seem to miss her papa too much, well at least she doesn't show it. We are so used to him working all day that this is not much different. I think after about four weeks we will start to realize he isn't coming home for a long time. We have been lucky enough to talk to him almost everyday on the phone or on the computer.

We have been trying to stay busy with activities. We've been hiking, going to the beach, shopping, and spending time with friends. I have been trying to make time for a "workout" each day. Mostly it is during Nicole's nap time or trying to find a place to walk with Nicole when we are out and about. My goal weight is 125 by November. Very conceivable, but going to take a lot of hard work, dedication, and will power. I am looking forward to the challenge. I would just LOVE to knock Ryan's socks off when he gets off that plane.

Well this entry is very short but I plan on writing again tonight after our fun filled day. I usually can write my best in the evenings anyways. Off we go...
